This simple and very useful tool allows the user to pull down the door handle on the other side of the door. The Door Handle-Catch is simply inserted in the gap between door and floor, then lifted up and adjusted above (around) the door handle. Using the pulling-rope on the outside, the handle is then pushed down.  In many cases this is the easiest and fastest method of opening closed but unlocked doors.
