The ARES Disc Detainer Opener Professional offers an exceptionally wide range of applications for disc detainer locks. Building on the Starter Set 2, this professional kit has been specifically expanded for demanding applications, including Scandinavian disc detainer systems.
It enables you to pick and accurately decode most generic models as well as numerous Kryptonite, ABUS Plus, and ABUS X-Plus systems. With the enormous variety of disc detainer locks available on the market, this tool reliably covers a large proportion of them, including many rare and technically demanding designs.
In addition, the Professional version includes the components required for working with Abloy Classic and Abloy Profile cylinders. These systems are widely used throughout Sweden and Finland and are regarded as particularly challenging—not least because the specialised tools required to manipulate them are highly sophisticated.
The kit supports the widely used Abloy Profile "C" variant. Please note that certain less common high-security Abloy Profile cylinders may feature different keyway designs that are not compatible with this set.
For unusual lock variants and specialised applications, the Professional Set also includes a specially developed tension tool that has proven indispensable in practice—for example when working with certain Oxford motorcycle locks such as the Oxford Patriot and Oxford Big Boss.
The ARES System is manufactured from high-quality aluminium with a durable anodised finish, combined with the same premium steel alloy used throughout our professional product range.
To ensure smooth operation between the tension tool and disc setter, the system incorporates a precision guide sleeve. Clearly laser-marked components provide reliable orientation during use. Additional control can be achieved by fitting the optional screw-on handles to the base module, which are particularly beneficial for certain dimple lock applications. Individual components—including the scale, positioning ring, tension tool, and disc setter—can be exchanged quickly and easily. The system can also be converted for dimple lock cylinders using the optional key profile and dimple pick accessories.
