The Starter Set 1 Slim provides an excellent introduction to the non-destructive opening of disc detainer locks.
Disc detainer locks are commonly found in padlocks and bicycle locks, making them one of the most widely used lock types worldwide. With the Multipick ARES System and a little practice, you will be able to open almost any disc detainer lock.
Among others, we offer the most common scales for ABUS and Abloy locks. The main difference lies in the graduation: 2.0 mm (ABUS, Abloy) and 1.6 mm (Abloy). These scales help you accurately locate the position of each individual disc. These graduations are the most widely used on the market. Of course, the scales can also be used with other disc detainer locks, although in such cases they may serve as a visual reference rather than an exact guide.

To ensure smooth operation between the tension tool and disc setter, the system incorporates a precision guide sleeve. Clearly laser-marked components provide reliable orientation during use. Additional control can be achieved by fitting the optional screw-on handles to the base module, which are particularly beneficial for certain dimple lock applications. Individual components—including the scale, positioning ring, tension tool, and disc setter—can be exchanged quickly and easily. The system can also be converted for dimple lock cylinders using the optional key profile and dimple pick accessories.
