Since this decoder is designed for double-bit lever lock China 6 pins, its construction is accordingly. The pick consists of a rod with 6 pins. These pins are arranged in a specific order to match the intended lock. The pins are tightened in the back part of the handle by a pin manipulator. When this is tight, the pins will be difficult to move. If it is loose, the pins can be moved more easily.

 

Preparation

 

You take one of the two springs and put it into the slot in the front of the handle. Afterwards remove the cover of the housing (which is on the back). Then insert the rod into the handle as demonstrated in the video, and securely tighten it to the handle with the Allen key and insert the pin manipulator by screwing it into the back of the handle. The ease of movement of the pins is the most important thing. If they are tight, the opening process will not be successful! Lastly, mount the small tensioning handles. Now the decoder is ready for use.

 

Opening and repairing procedure with the double-bit lock decoder

 

Make sure that the decoder is used for the appropriate lock. Insert the tool with the pins that correspond to the position of the levers inside the lock. Now start the opening procedure.

 

By tensioning it over the tensioning handles several times, the decoder raises each tumbler to a certain height so that the bolt can move. Finally, the pins "adopt" the position corresponding to the position of the "ridges" of the original key.

 

Moreover, the double-bit lock decoder is easy to assemble and disassemble. Another important aspect is the ease of repairing a broken or twisted pin - simply unscrew the pin manipulator and replace the damaged pin.

 

This lockpick tool works in a non-destructive way. Each tool can be used for a specific lock - in this case China 6 or for locks with similar dimensions. The internal dimensions of the locks (the size of the original key) are crucial. This means that you have to know the number of levers and the distance between the levers before using a lockpick tool.

    Our wave rakes represent years of research and development. Based on various wave rakes which are commercially available, and in combination with initial mathematical modelling and final analysis on several prototypes, we created these impeccably crafted wave rakes. Like all lock picks from Multipick, they are made of the finest spring steel, in unrivaled high-tech quality in 0.6 mm-thickness. The waves of the rakes have a length of 25.4 mm in order to eliminate the normally required precise insertion depth and to facilitate simultaneous interaction with 7-pins. The wave rakes are equally tapered from the shaft to tip in order to maximize strength and to eliminate stress concentrations that cause lesser picks to snap. The long plow tip lifts pin 1 instead of bumping into it head on. With a good technique, prompt openings are often possible.Our new wave rake profiles are based on Christina Palmer's original (2019) quint cycloid and quint sinusoidal waves, which were designed by her and a group of PhDs. To achieve this, advanced Mathematica software was used to create an exact tapered wave effect. Christina Palmer is known for her great passion for locksport. She combines her personal experience with the laws of physics, applying both to the development of these two sophisticated profiles. We would like to thank Ms. Palmer for endowing us with her wave rake and tension wrench designs.    Digression:Cycloid curves characterise the wave forms as they can be precisely defined and drawn using parametric equations in CAD programs and have characteristics that lead to useful wave rakes. For example, cycloids are the curves created by the spirograph drawing tool, and also represent the curve of the fastest descent under constant gravity. Many cycloid wave forms were tested to determine the optimal parameters. Most commercially available wave rakes have sharp tips and steep slopes that make smooth raking challenging and also damage the pins. Our short cycloid wave rakes with a sine/cosine ratio of 0.25 provide non-slip action, making it ideal for simple basic locks. Our sinusoidal wave rakes with a sine/cosine ratio of 0 offer gentle action, ideal for hard locks. Both wave forms are available in a quad version for large locks and a quint version for small locks.While the long cycloid wave rakes are recommended for normal use, and the long sinusoidal wave rakes for gentle use. Short cycloid wave rakes are intended for fine raking.Caution! The aggressive cycloid wave rakes are sharp like a saw and can damage the pins and the entire lock.

    The graduations of the grid scales are identical to those of the items MOB-SK001 to MOB-SK004 (3.1mm / 3.4mm / 3.6mm and 3.8mm). In addition, the graduation is recognisable here by a "ring nut". This serves as a grid. The scales offer the advantage that the pick is always positioned in the grid dimension in the thrust axis. For this purpose, an additional pressure spring pin is screwed into the positioning ring. This comes with the tool and can be used if required. Through the modification, the user can concentrate on the rotary axis and the pick in order to set the pin. The slight disadvantage of this is that the liberty in the thrust axis is lost. This could be an issue in some cases. In this case, a scale without a grid would be advantageous. This scale corresponds to the graduation 3.8mm
