In combination with the included core pulling plates, the cylinder core alone can be easily extracted from the housing so that the locking mechanism can be actuated without any difficulty. Especially with half cylinders, such as those found on glass doors, garage doors, alarm systems, shutters etc., to save time, deploying the "Bell" is often the only option when it comes to opening the door in an emergency. As the device works with a single and centrally oriented pulling-mechanism, there are no lateral forces during the actual pulling. This prevents the special extraction screws from jamming or snapping.

The tension rod is equipped with a hardened trapezoidal thread that enables precise operation and improved load bearing. Furthermore, the rougher trapezoidal thread is less susceptible to brass shavings.

This means that the ball bearing and the tension rod as well as all moving parts should be kept free of metal shavings after each use and regularly treated with lubricating grease. You can either apply it by means of a brush or, alternatively, using a similar spray grease.
